New Aldi store planned for Thornaby

News / 21 January 2015

Following the regeneration of the derelict former Tistar Neasham site in Thornaby three years ago, GMI Developments have teamed up with Aldi to design and build a new Aldi store in Thornaby.

A public consultation is being held so residents can find out more about the scheme, meet the people behind the project, and give their views.

A spokesman for Aldi said “We are excited about the prospect of delivering a new Aldi store to Thornaby – creating up to 30 new jobs for the area, and offering the local community additional choice when completing their shopping.  We would like to encourage local residents to come along to our public exhibition, find out more about our proposals, and provide their feedback.  It’s a great opportunity for people to find out more about the proposal and what it would bring to the local area”

The development site is between the Adult Training Centre and the High Ryers Children’s Centre and Christ the King RC Primary School.

The public consultation is on Thursday, January 29, from 3pm to 7pm at Thornaby Sports and Leisure Club, Tedder Avenue, Thornaby.
