60 New Homes Planned For Easingwold

February 2016 – GMI Property and Daniel Gath Homes have submitted a planning application to Hambleton District Council for the creation of 60 new homes in Easingwold, North Yorkshire representing a proposed investment of circa £9m to the Town.

The application seeks to transform a 6 acre part-brownfield site, located in between existing houses off Thirsk Road in the northern part of Easingwold, into 60 new homes to support the housing requirements within the locality and help meet the Council’s need for a five-year supply of housing land.

In addition to the provision of new family and affordable homes in a range of house types and sizes, the proposals incorporate an enlarged and improved car park for parents and staff of the nearby Primary school as well as significant landscaping and streetscape works.

The inward investment of £9m would be further supported by the potential for construction jobs and local supply chain contracts.

Chris Gilman, Managing Director of GMI Property, comments: “Following our consultations with both the Council and the local community, we have worked hard to devise an appropriately sized infill scheme in a discrete location which will make a positive contribution to the long-term housing needs of Easingwold whilst maintaining the existing character of the Town. By partnering with a local developer as opposed to a national housebuilder, the scheme will benefit from Daniel Gath Homes’ local knowledge and eye for detail.”

Daniel Gath Homes is a well-respected local developer who offers an alternative product to the national housebuilders and actively supports local organisations including being the main sponsor of Easingwold Town Football Club. The developer also uses local suppliers and sub-contractors and employs local labour from in and around the Town.

GMI Property has a long term track record of delivering successful developments throughout Yorkshire. Most notably, the Company was responsible for delivering Thorpe Park where it worked closely with Leeds City Council to bring forward land at a key junction on the M1 which has subsequently become one of the Country’s premier business parks.
